Classes

Here is a sampling of classes I teach.

I’m teaching several classes at The Jansen Art Center in Lynden throughout the year. Some are offered at their lovely facility and some will be held in my basement studio.

Paint Pour: Using glass enamel paint, create a unique swirl of colors. Various techniques will be taught.
Mosaics: Render a favorite photo or image found online with small pieces of colored glass.
Snowman Ornaments! – using pre-cut elements, create your own colorful snowman to decorate your tree for the holidays.
Stack-it! -create a colorful plate or bowl by stacking glass on glass in your own pattern.
Colorful Mandala Garden Stake: create a colorful decoration for your garden using pre-cut geometric shapes.
Beyond Basics in Stained Glass: students with previous experience cutting glass and soldering will make one or more suncatchers using patterns from me or ones they have found or created.
Bubbles and Optics: students will make one dish using one of these techniques. One strategy traps bubbles in a regular pattern using stringers between 2 pieces of glass. The other creates an optical illusion of wide and narrow checkerboard of stringers.
Fused glass earrings: students will make 2 pairs of earrings of their own unique design with guidance.
Heart Pendant – The perfect class to make a special gift for mom, grandma, BFF or even yourself. Class is perfect for kids to adults.
Gnome Ornaments: Create a whimsical gnome to decorate your holiday tree.
Beginning Stained Glass : Learn the basics without having to invest in all the tools. You’ll start from a design of your choice and make a small stained glass window you can proudly display at home or in the office.
Intro to Fusing: Make your own small dish with fused glass – learning to cut, shape and layer to create a unique piece. You will learn the concepts of glass fusing during this class.
