I come from a family of artists, or at least, really creative people.\u00a0 My mom jokes that we have each found a medium that we cut up and put back together again.<\/p>\n

She started it!\u00a0 Mom made lovely, colorful and intriguing quilts.\u00a0 Dad, a naval architect until retirement, “made sawdust,” according to my mom, when he made side tables and other functional furniture.\u00a0 My brother is the only one to make a living with his artistic talents, creating snowboard graphics early on, and then designing gloves for all sorts of technical and sporting pursuits.\u00a0 My older sister is talented in textiles (and with words) while my younger sister makes beautiful furniture and marquetry.<\/p>\n

I got the glass.\u00a0 While I have dabbled in a variety of crafts, glass finally caught me up and inspired me to “paint” with it.\u00a0 I started using the copper foil or Tiffany technique and then expanded into mosaics to help use up scrap glass.\u00a0 In 2015 I bought a kiln and began to dive deep into glass fusing. I’m always learning and trying new ideas.\u00a0 I enjoy creating custom pieces that require dabbling with new design ideas or techniques\u00a0 – so let me know what I can make for you! I also teach classes at the Jansen Art Center<\/a> in Lynden and at MoonWater Arts<\/a> in Anacortes.<\/p>\n\n\n
